Item 1
Health centre visit fees changed on 1 August
- What changed
- A revised regulation on patient co-payments (komugjöld) for primary healthcare took effect on 1 August 2026. The standard charge for a health centre appointment rose, and the out-of-hours charge rose with it. Exemption categories, children, pensioners and disability pensioners, were not changed.
- What this means for you
- If you use heilsugæslan regularly, your out-of-pocket cost per visit is now higher than it was in July. The annual cost-ceiling system still applies, so the change matters most to people who visit occasionally and never reach the ceiling. Check the current fee list before you assume last year's number.
